A multi sport holiday for those who like alpine scenery and natural monuments of a different kind. Famous Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj are visited, as well as the Mt. Triglav National Park. Suitable for hikers and cyclists of very average fitness.

 

DAY 1.  ARRIVAL TO KRANJSKA GORA. Hotel 3*.
Meeting with the representative of Helia travel agency.

& Main attractions: alpine village of Kranjska Gora with beautiful scenery of Western Julian Alps. Known from winter sports - World Cup slaloms are held here every January. Hotel 3*.

 

DAY 2. WALKING KRANJSKA GORA – GOZD MARTULJEK - MOJSTRANA (KRMA) 18 km; one ascend / descend of 160 m and one ascend / descend of 200 m. Hotel 2*.
Q Walk along former railway line Jesenice – Kranjska Gora, lightly descending. A short climb to Srednji vrh viewpoint across from Spik range. Valley of Sava Dolinka, the source of it being right on the Italian border. Country Inn 2*.
 

DAY 3. MOJSTRANA - KRMA – LAKE BLED 21 km flat
Cycling tour through Triglav national park area, in cooling shadows of Radovna stream valley. Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: many natural sights, touching WW2 historical monuments. A short side trip brings you to Vintgar gorge – a mile long canyon with a waterfall on the end.
C We liked: cool forest on the way to Bled.

 

DAY 4. RAFTING LAKE BLED 8 km
3 hour rating trip on Sava Dolinka river (grade 2-3).

Q This trip is suitable for all, no extra experience or equipment needed. A free afternoon in Bled. Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: time to explore Bled – its Lake, island church, the castle on the rock...
C We liked: cream cake in Park hotel – famous in all central Europe...

 

DAY 5. WALKING BLED - BOHINJ 21 km, descend 700m.
Car transfer to top of Pokljuka high plateau, from there 12 km downhill to Lake Bohinj.

Q This high plateau is a good starting point for more demanding tours. Hiking across mountain pastures, farmers lodges to viewing point from where great views of Bohinj valley can be seen. Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: pine tree forests, full of strawberries, blueberries... in Studor village a farm village can be visited, set in an old, intact farmhouse. See how people of the region lived 150 years ago. Untouched villages of Upper Bohinj valley.
C We liked: fresh alpine air, alpine pastures.

 

DAY 6. BOHINJ LAKE KAYAKING
A day for rest or an easy kayaking trip on Lake Bohinj (in the summer months one can swim in its' crystal clear waters). Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: Spend a lazy afternoon on one of hidden beaches of this tranquil place
C We liked: local pubs with excellent lake trout's, cable car ride up Vogel mountain - 1532 metres high.

 

DAY 7. CYCLING BOHINJ - LAKE BLED 25 km
Cycling through Sava river valley, flat one short ascent. Hotel 3*.
& Main attractions: back to Lake Bled through the valley of longest Slovene river. Great views of Karawanke range of mountains on the way to Bled. In the afternoon there is plenty of time to explore surrounding of Bled on bike. A side trip to a view point is possible.

 

DAY 8. LAKE BLED
After breakfast the end of the trip.

Children up to 12 years when sharing room with parents -30%. Third adult person in the room -10%; both on basic price.

Not included:

Entrance fees. There is free but unguarded parking lot in Kranjska Gora. Bike insurance: bikes are insured against minor breaks and normal wear (up to a damage of 10 EUR). They are not insured against theft or frame break. Insurance is available against these events at the rate of 1 EUR per bike per day. Transfers to and from Ljubljana (Easy jet) airport are available at request
