It's ideal for those who love outdoor adventure among soaring mountains and alpine valleys. The visitor will see Bled and Bohinj, the two famous lakes of the Triglav National Park, trek through valleys and gorges, raft and kayak the lakes and gorges, and cycle over plateaus.

> Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN PODKOREN. Hotel 3*.
Located close to the famous ski resort of Kranjska Gora, the alpine village of Podkoren is the starting point for this tour. You will spend your first night here in the shadows of the mighty western Julian Alps.

Day 2: HIKING PODKOREN – THREE COUNTRIES POINT - PODKOREN 13 km round trip / ascent 640m. (hotel 3*).
As a warm-up, you hike to the summit of Mt. Peč (1508m), the triple border point where Slovenia, Italy and Austria meet. At the top you can soak up the dramatic views across the Julian and Carnian Alps, with Hohe Tauern, the highest alpine range in Austria, forming a picturesque backdrop. Then treat yourself to a nice meal in Kranjska Gora, the ski capital of Slovenia.

Day 3: CYCLING KRANJSKA GORA – BLED (40 km). 150m/500ft (4* hotel).
To warm up your cycling legs you will peddle into the heart of the Triglav National Park, alongside the Sava Dolinka River. From Mojstrana you will head into the peaceful forests of the Krma Valley. You can have lunch in the mountain hut at the foot of Triglav, the mightiest mountain in the Julian Alps. Then it's through the Radovna Valley and a short detour to the stunning 1.6km Vintgar Gorge, carved 150m deep into the mountains.

Day 4: RAFTING LAKE BLED (8 km). (4* hotel).
A 3-hour rafting trip on the Sava Dolinka river (grade 2-3). This trip is suitable for all, no extra experience or equipment needed.
Then a free afternoon in Bled to explore the lake, clifftop castle and hire a rowing boat or be rowed out in style in a traditional Pletna boat, to the island church. For the best photos and views of the lake, castle and Karawanke range, head up to Osojnica.

Day 5: HIKING (car transfer) POKLJUKA – USKOVNICA SADLE – VOJE – LAKE BOHINJ
12 km / ascent 200m. Mountain meadows & tree line walk (4* hotel).
After a car transfer to the top of Pokljuka high plateau, you will hike back down into the Bohinj Valley through alpine villages, forests of pine, fields of strawberries and blueberries and past the unique double hayracks until reaching Lake Bohinj, a true gem in the heart of this alpine valley.

Day 6: KAYAKING BOHINJ LAKE (hotel 4*).
Spend the morning kayaking around the tranquil waters of this pristine alpine lake nestled in the shadows of the Julian Alps. Warm weather permitting, you can also take a dip in the crystal clear water. In the afternoon you can either hike up to Savica Waterfall, or give your legs a rest and ascend Vogel Mountain via cable car for an exquisite view into the valley.

Day 7: CYCLING BOHINJ - LAKE BLED (25 km). (hotel 4*).
For your last day you cycle back to Lake Bled, through the valley of the longest Slovene river as it trickles its way alongside the Pokljuka Plateau and exits the Triglav National Park. Look out for the Babji Zob (Hag's tooth), perched upon a 1128-metre peak as you approach Bled.

Day 8: End of tour after breakfast.

Getting there...
Staring point of this trip is Podkoren in NW Slovenia, on Slovene / Austrian / Italian border (google maps).
By plane: closest airport is Ljubljana (LJU). Several airlines serve it.  From the airport you can travel to Podkoren by bus (change once in Kranj, takes about 3 hrs) or book our transfer: 50 EUR per person, two persons minimum. Transfers need to be ordered when booking the trip.
By train: nearest railway station is in Jesenice, take a local bus (some 45 minutes) or order our transfer 20 EUR per person, two persons minimum.
By car: take exit Karavanke from A1 motorway Ljubljana - ,Jesenice, Karavanke and then follow signpost to Kranjska Gora. On motorway Villach - Venice, take exit Tarvisio in Italy or exit Villach West in Austria. There is a free but unguarded parking lot in Podkoren.

By plane: need to get to the airport? Our transfer to Ljubljana airport: return to the airport from Bled - 45 EUR per person, two persons minimum.
By train: Bohinj has a railway station in Bohinjska Bistrica 5 km from your last hotel. It is on the Jesenice - Nova Gorica sideline, only a few trains a day.
By car: if your car is in Podkoren, you can get there by local bus (change once in Lesce, travel time is about 2 hrs) or we can transfer you, price is 45 € per person, two persons minimum.
